When Jesus had crossed over again in the boat to the other side, a large crowd gathered around Him; and so He stayed by the seashore. One of the synagogue officials named Jairus came up, and on seeing Him, fell at His feet and implored Him earnestly, saying, "My little daughter is at the point of death; please come and lay Your hands on her, so that she will get well and live." And He went off with him; and a large crowd was following Him and pressing in on Him...
...They came from the house of the synagogue official, saying, "Your daughter has died; why trouble the Teacher anymore?" But Jesus, overhearing what was being spoken, said to the synagogue official, "Do not be afraid any longer, only believe." And He allowed no one to accompany Him, except Peter and James and John the brother of James. They came to the house of the synagogue official; and He saw a commotion, and people loudly weeping and wailing. And entering in, He said to them, "Why make a commotion and weep? The child has not died, but is asleep." They began laughing at Him. But putting them all out, He took along the child's father and mother and His own companions, and entered the room where the child was. Taking the child by the hand, He said to her, "Talitha kum!" (which translated means, "Little girl, I say to you, get up!"). Immediately the girl got up and began to walk, for she was twelve years old. And immediately they were completely astounded.

Umm so where's the update on your bundle of joy? Not all of us see you every Saturday....
An update about the baby would not fit into the mission statement of this blog, so that is why I haven't posted one. However, comments are fair game, so...
The baby is 18 weeks along. At our last check up, both baby and mom were in excellent shape. We are going in for an ultrasound in a few weeks, and hopefully they can determine the gender at that point. Jessica wants a boy, and I kind of go back and forth between boy and girl. Either way, though, we will be excited. I can't wait to be able to stop using gender-neutral pronouns.
I just read your update--glad you're doing well, too! No worries, we are not using either of your chosen names for our child. The names we have chosen are still a secret, but you can at least eliminate two of them!
Yay we are about the same time. We go in a week or so for our gender revealing ultrasound as well. Currently the baby is called Saramin (Sarah/Benjamin). We don't all get the Summit Updates from the guitar man on stage!
Most men want boys it seems. I wanted a little girl. God gave us a little girl. My wife wanted a boy. God gave us a little boyl. Savor every moment. The really good times start at about six months. I'm not sure where they end yet.
Good to see you blog again.
Glad things with the pregnancy are going well. We are just a few weeks behind you so we'll be finding out shortly after you do regarding the gender of our next one. Already having a boy and a girl - we really don't have a preference for the 3rd.
Okay, as for the blog, I really liked the song. You always choose such great music to post on here. (I still get that Flobots song stuck in my head from listening to it so many times)
I found your correlation with that text very interesting. Though, it could also parallel Jesus' resurrection. Your comparison was more original though.
